A good learning material

I was not expecting much from a book that only cost me $3.99. To my surprise, it is very well written. My kid can actually follow the story and picked up few Chinese words. I'm gonna check out the other books that author has to offer. And i still think the price is good~!

tiny type, not resizable

I like that English, Chinese, and Pinyin paragraphs are all stacked on top of each other. I would have prefered that this stacking be done line-by-line, or better yet: as far as possible, word-by-word.
Since it is a level one book, I expected there to be a LOT more vocabulary words in the glossary. I'm using my Pleco Android app dictionaries to help me, and I see that there are some idiomatic expressions that need explaining or at least some indication of where the phrases begin and end, so those should definitely be in the glossary. For example, the book translates "Hen jiu hen jiu yi qian" as "once upon a time". If you try to look that up literally, that's not the English you come up with. Literally, I get "very long time very long time before". And I know that English speakers always hear the words "big bad wolf", but the Chinese here says "big GRAY wolf"--for a little while I was under the impression that 'gray' implies 'bad' in the same way that '8' implies 'good'.
In the Kindle edition, the type is teeny-tiny. As a brand new student of Chinese, I am having a hard enough time distinguishing characters when they are in large type. The type in this edition makes that task almost impossible. Even the tone markings are not very easy to see. So when I try looking up the pinyin to translate into English, I can't tell which word to pick in the dictionary because the characters in this book are too small to help choose one. The Kindle font cannot be resized through the settings. Finger-pinching on the touch screen has no effect on the Windows machine; finger-pinching on the Android results in very blurry text without anti-aliasing.
There's a huge amount of white space on each page, so producing the characters in a bigger, clearer font should have been considered.

Good story and illustrations

Good story and illustrations. However, on my ipad, the chinese characters are on the small side, which can sometimes be difficult when learning them for the first time. It also doesn't let you enlarge it. Otherwise, happy with it.
